The HIIA Future Leaders Program 2026 Hungarian Institute of International Affairs is a fully funded international fellowship hosted in Budapest, Hungary, from 1 September to 30 November 2026. The Hungarian Institute of International Affairs serves as one of Hungary’s leading foreign policy research institutions and think tanks. Through its fellowship initiatives, the institute promotes research, policy dialogue, and international cooperation across a broad range of geopolitical and strategic issues.
The HIIA Future Leaders Program 2026 provides young scholars and graduates with an opportunity to engage directly with foreign policy research under professional mentorship. Participants contribute to ongoing research activities while developing expertise in regional and thematic policy areas relevant to Hungary and the wider international community.
In addition, fellows participate in leadership development activities, public speaking workshops, media training sessions, and professional discussions with experts from Hungary’s foreign policy community. Consequently, the fellowship combines academic research with practical policy exposure.
The fellowship provides financial and logistical support for selected international participants.
