About the Fellowship

The Climate Change Media Partnership (CCMP), led by Internews’ Earth Journalism Network (EJN) and the Stanley Centre for Peace and Security, supports journalists from low- and middle-income countries in covering international climate negotiations. Since its launch in 2007, the program has enabled more than 550 journalists to report directly from United Nations climate conferences. The COP31 fellowship will allow selected participants to attend the full conference in Antalya and gain first hand access to global climate discussions, policymakers, scientists, and environmental experts.

Participants will receive editorial mentorship, reporting support, networking opportunities, and specialized training designed to strengthen climate journalism and improve public understanding of climate issues.

Eligibility Criteria

Professional Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be professional journalists or creator journalists.
  • Be from a low- or middle-income country.
  • Demonstrate experience covering climate change, environmental issues, or related topics.
  • Have strong English communication skills.
  • Be available to attend the full fellowship period during COP31.
  • Commit to participating in fellowship activities and producing climate-related coverage.
  • Have support from a media organization or publishing platform.
