ATAL FDP Kongu Arts and Science College

The ATAL FDP Kongu Arts and Science College is a one-week offline Faculty Development Programme scheduled from 17 August 2026 to 22 August 2026. Sponsored by the AICTE Training & Learning (ATAL) Academy, this program focuses on the “Future of Textile Design: Tools, Techniques, and Smart Technologies”. Organized by the Department of Costume Design and Fashion in Erode, Tamil Nadu, the initiative is designed as a vibrant space to deliberate on innovations in textile materials, processes, and design technologies.

About the Programme

The primary goal of this ATAL FDP is to enhance participants’ understanding of advanced textile technologies and sustainable design practices. The program focuses on sustainable fibres, natural dyes, nanotechnology, and advanced manufacturing techniques transforming the textile and apparel industry. Participants will gain exposure to current research trends and industrial practices through interactive sessions, expert lectures, and a dedicated industrial visit. Additionally, hands-on training sessions will enable participants to apply advanced concepts in real-time scenarios.

Kongu Arts and Science College, established in 1994, is an autonomous, co-educational institution affiliated with Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. Accredited by NAAC with an A+ Grade, the college is a centre of academic excellence with a strong commitment to empowering rural students. The host department, Costume Design and Fashion, established in 1996, aims to produce highly skilled manpower to create myriad patterns in the clothing industry while keeping pace with modernization and the up-gradation of techniques.
