Research Assistant / Postdoctoral Fellow Opportunity

Prof. Edwin Cheung’s laboratory is seeking highly motivated Research Assistants (RA) and Postdoctoral Fellows to contribute to the development of AI-driven computational programs for interrogating complex biological datasets and accelerating drug discovery. Successful candidates will work at the interface of genomics, computational biology, and artificial intelligence, directly contributing to impactful translational cancer research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement AI/ML models to analyze biological, genomic, and pharmacological datasets.
  • Contribute to research projects focused on transcriptional regulation and therapy resistance in breast and prostate cancers.
  • Perform data analysis, visualization, and multi-omics data integration.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members across computational and wet-lab domains.

Postdoctoral Fellow Requirements

  • PhD degree from a domestically or internationally renowned university.
  • PhD obtained within the past 2 years, or expected completion within 6 months.
  • Strong background in one or more of the following areas:
    • Computational Biology
    • Biological Sciences
    • Machine Learning & Programming (R/Python)
  • Demonstrated research experience and a competitive publication record.

Research Assistant Requirements

  • BSc or MSc degree from a domestically or internationally renowned university.
  • Prior research experience preferred.
  • Strong academic background in one or more of the following:
    • Computational Biology
    • Biological Sciences
    • Machine Learning & Programming (R/Python)
  • Candidates with relevant project or publication experience are encouraged to apply.

About Our Research

The Cheung Lab focuses on uncovering the transcriptional regulatory mechanisms of hormone receptors and therapy resistance in breast and prostate cancers. By integrating genomics, bioinformatics, and experimental models, the team aims to discover novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets that can advance precision oncology.

Compensation

  • Research Assistant: Approx. 200,000–240,000 MOP per year
  • Postdoctoral Fellow: Approx. 300,000 MOP per year
