About the Project :

Project Title:

“Targeted manipulation of population-specific DNA methylation induced by elevated CO₂ for trait improvement under climate change scenario”

The project aims to understand and manipulate DNA methylation patterns influenced by rising atmospheric CO₂ levels. The ultimate goal is to enhance biological traits in response to changing climate conditions. The research combines molecular biology, cell culture, epigenetics, and model organism studies.

Eligibility / Qualification

Essential Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Cell culture techniques
    • Molecular biology experiments
    • Developing or handling animal models

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of research experience in a relevant life sciences domain

Age Limit :

  • 35 years
  • Age relaxation:
    • 5 years for SC / ST / OBC candidates (as per Govt. norms)

Job / Position Description

The selected Research Associate will assist in the execution of the DBT-funded project with specific responsibilities including:

  • Conducting cell culture experiments and molecular biology assays
  • Working on epigenetic analysis, specifically DNA methylation studies
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of animal models
  • Performing data collection, analysis, and supporting manuscript preparation
  • Coordinating laboratory activities and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Contributing to the scientific progress of the climate change–oriented project
