Program Overview

The primary objective of this recruitment is to select a qualified Junior Research Fellow for a specialized research project titled “Synthesis of Bio Based Zwitterionic surfactant for use in Enhanced Oil recovery (EOR) at High Reservoir Temperature Conditions.” Specifically, the project focuses on developing sustainable chemical solutions to improve oil extraction efficiency under extreme thermal conditions. Furthermore, the selected candidate will work under the guidance of expert faculty members in the Department of Petroleum Engineering.

This role is ideal for postgraduates who possess a keen interest in surfactants, reservoir engineering, and chemical synthesis. Because the project involves high-temperature applications, it requires a candidate with strong analytical skills and laboratory expertise.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following academic requirements:

  • Possess an M.E. or M.Tech degree in Petroleum Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • Alternatively, candidates with an M.Sc. in Chemistry are encouraged to apply.
  • A minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA/OGPA is mandatory.
  • Candidates must have a valid GATE or NET qualification.

Fellowship and Benefits

The fellowship structure is designed to support researchers throughout the project duration. Initially, for the first two years, the fellow will receive Rs. 37,000 per month plus applicable HRA. Subsequently, based on satisfactory performance, the fellowship may be extended for an additional year with an increased stipend of Rs. 42,000 per month plus HRA. In addition to financial support, the institute provides access to world-class laboratory facilities and library resources.
