Program Overview
The primary objective of this recruitment is to engage high-caliber Guest Faculty members for the Department of Anthropology at the Diphu Campus. Since its inception in 1994, Assam University has evolved into an institute of excellence, providing a robust platform for research and higher education. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the stringent academic requirements set by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Specifically, the qualifications include:
- Educational Qualification: A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in Anthropology or a relevant/allied subject from an Indian or accredited foreign university.
- National Eligibility: Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or similar accredited tests like SET/SLET.
- PhD Exemptions: Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations (2009 or 2016) are exempted from the NET/SET requirement.
- Foreign Degree Holders: If the Ph.D. is from a foreign university, the institution must be ranked among the top 500 in the world by QS, THE, or ARWU.
Curriculum & Selection Process
The selected faculty will be responsible for delivering lectures and conducting practical sessions as per the Department of Anthropology’s curriculum. Because the positions are in Anthropology, expertise in Physical Anthropology or allied branches is often preferred in the Diphu Campus context.
The selection will be based on a walk-in interview where the selection committee will assess the candidate’s subject knowledge, teaching aptitude, and research contributions.
