The ATAL FDP at R. C. Patel Educational Trust (RCPET) is an AICTE-sponsored, six-day offline Faculty Development Programme titled “Capacity Building in Biotechnology: Industrial, Computational and Environmental Perspectives”. Organized by the Department of Biotechnology in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at R. C. Patel Arts, Commerce & Science College in Shirpur, this initiative focuses on deploying biotechnological interventions to promote sustainability and address environmental challenges.

This intensive training program aims to educate faculty members about the principles of biotechnology in driving sustainable development and tackling issues like pollution and resource depletion. Participants will receive practical training on the ethical, social, and regulatory aspects of the field while being encouraged to develop innovative teaching methodologies and interdisciplinary research projects.
The host institute, R. C. Patel Arts, Commerce and Science College (RCPET), is a NAAC Accredited ‘A+’ Grade institution established in 1991. Located in a rural tribal area, the college is permanently affiliated to Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, and operates with UGC 2(f) and 12(B) status.
To earn the certification, attendees will undergo a Continuous Comprehensive Assessment. Participants must secure an overall 70% to receive a certificate, while 90% and above earns a distinction.
The FDP employs a collaborative, outcome-based pedagogy encompassing live sessions, case studies, research article discussions, and hands-on laboratory training.
