The ATAL FDP Sakthi Polytechnic College is a six-day Faculty Development Programme scheduled to take place from 17.08.2026 to 22.08.2026. About the Programme

The primary objective of this FDP is to provide an in-depth understanding of the integration and future of renewable energy systems within the manufacturing industry. The highly structured session planning includes 25 hours of theoretical teaching in ten equal sessions, 5 hours of practical or experiential learning labs, 4 hours of article discussion, and 4 hours allocated for an industrial visit.

Sakthi Polytechnic College is a Government Aided institution functioning under the aegis of the Sakthi Foundation Trust, established to impart quality technical education to rural students. The host, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, came into existence in 1981 and is an NBA accredited program.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Academic Qualification: Faculty members, research scholars, and PG students of AICTE-approved institutions are eligible to attend.
  • Geographical Restriction: The intake requires 30 to 50 participants strictly from Higher Education Institutions located in the same city or within 100 km of the host institute.
  • Nomination Requirement: Participants must be formally nominated by their respective Heads of Institutions, requiring a completed Participant NOC format.

  • Candidates must achieve at least a 70% cumulated weightage across continuous assessments to receive certification.
  • A minimum of 80% attendance is essential; achieving 100% attendance carries a 20% weightage.
  • An individual assessment test (combination of MCQs, short answer, or reasoning) holds a 10% weightage.
  • A 2-page article summary submitted by the team contributes 30% to the final grade.
  • The output from individual practical sessions is valued at 15% weightage.
  • A team-based report or outcome from the industrial visit presented at the last session holds a 10% weightage.
  • An individual Reflection Journal submitted during the final session carries a 15% weightage.
