This PhD opportunity is offered by the Division of Mathematics at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, a joint department of the Faculty of Engineering (LTH) and the Faculty of Science. The department brings together internationally recognized researchers in areas including partial differential equations, operator theory, harmonic analysis, inverse problems, differential geometry, scientific computing, algebra, and complex analysis.
The doctoral research focuses on nonlinear partial differential equations in fluid mechanics and wave motion. The project investigates steady solutions to the Euler equations with applications to water waves with vorticity. Research will involve advanced mathematical analysis using nonlinear functional analysis and dynamical systems.
