Wang Gungwu Visiting Fellowship ISEAS is a fully funded international fellowship hosted by the ISEAS–Yusof Ishak Institute in Singapore for post-doctoral researchers and mid-career policy makers. The programme supports policy-oriented research on major geopolitical, economic, and technological developments affecting Southeast Asia. About the Programme
The ISEAS–Yusof Ishak Institute conducts research on socio-political, economic, and security developments across Southeast Asia. Consequently, the fellowship focuses on policy-relevant scholarship that examines the relationship between major global powers and the Southeast Asian region. The programme honours Wang Gungwu and aims to support emerging scholars and policy practitioners working on contemporary regional challenges.
Moreover, fellows undertake research in areas such as international politics and security, regional economics, and digital technology. Priority themes include US–China relations, Asia-Pacific security, regional economic cooperation initiatives, the rise of China and its regional implications, and the use of digital technologies to influence public perceptions in Southeast Asia.
In addition, fellows become part of an active network of researchers and policy experts. They contribute to institutional publications, present their findings through seminars, and engage directly with scholars working on Southeast Asian affairs.
