About the Program
The Geneva Peace Fellowship 2026-27 is a newly launched initiative designed to identify and develop the next generation of global leaders in peace and humanitarian diplomacy, placing 10 selected fellows within some of the world’s most influential international organisations operating at the epicentre of global diplomacy in Geneva. Fellows are embedded with partner host organisations — including Interpeace, the Geneva Graduate Institute, the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, the Kofi Annan Foundation, the Centre for Civilians in Conflict, and the World Council of Churches — based on their professional expertise and chosen thematic focus. Consequently, participants gain firsthand, practical exposure to real-world peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and humanitarian policy work alongside leading practitioners and policymakers throughout their nine-month placement. Furthermore, the fellowship’s structured combination of host organisation work, leadership training, strategic initiative development, and expert mentorship ensures that each fellow leaves Geneva with both the professional competencies and the international network required to drive meaningful impact in peace and humanitarian diplomacy.
Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualification
- Recent graduates who completed a Master’s degree within the past 12 months are eligible
- Advanced Ph.D. candidates transitioning into policy or practice are also eligible
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills for an international diplomatic environment
Experience & Other Conditions
- Junior professionals with one to four years of professional experience are eligible
- Mid-career professionals with five to ten years of professional experience are eligible
- Must demonstrate strong leadership potential and a genuine interest in peace and humanitarian diplomacy
- Must be able to work effectively in multicultural environments
- Must be available to relocate to Geneva for the full nine-month fellowship period from September 2026 to June 2027
