The International Conference on Buddhism 2026 invites scholars globally to explore the profound legacy of Buddhist heritage in South Asia. Organized by the Department of A.I.H.C. & Archaeology at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), this event is a pivotal part of the department’s Centenary Celebrations (2025-2026). Consequently, it serves as a major platform for examining the spiritual, cultural, and artistic impact of Buddhism over the last 2,500 years.
This academic gathering aims to foster dialogue among researchers, historians, and cultural practitioners regarding the expansion and regional adaptations of Buddhism. Furthermore, the conference will delve into archaeological findings and architectural marvels that define the region’s history. Therefore, academicians and students interested in South Asian history should prioritize this event in their 2026 calendar.
