This project focuses on integrating high-thermal-conductivity diamond substrates with GaN HEMT structures to significantly enhance heat dissipation. The findings are expected to contribute to next-generation semiconductor technologies, enabling improved device reliability, efficiency, and performance for defense and high-power applications.

Eligibility Criteria :

Educational Qualification

  • A full-time PhD in Physics, Semiconductor Technology, Materials Science, Electronics, or a closely related field.
  • The doctorate should be directly related to any area of semiconductor devices, thermal management, or CVD materials.

Desired Experience :

Candidates with experience in the following areas will be preferred:

  • CVD diamond substrate development or characterization
  • GaN HEMT device fabrication, analysis, or modeling
  • Semiconductor thermal simulation or heat dissipation research
  • Handling of advanced characterization tools (e.g., Raman, TEM, SEM, electrical testing)

Relaxations :

  • SC/ST candidates: Eligible for 5% marks relaxation as per Govt. of India norms.
  • Retired or superannuated government employees: Welcome to apply; salary will be as per IRD and institute rules.

Job Responsibilities

The selected Research Associate will actively contribute to the scientific and technical progress of the project through:

Experimental Research

  • Conducting laboratory experiments focused on thermal enhancement of GaN HEMT devices
  • Integrating CVD diamond substrates with high-power semiconductor structures
  • Testing and optimizing heat dissipation performance

Device Characterization & Analysis

  • Performing structural, thermal, and electrical characterization
  • Analyzing device behavior under different load and temperature conditions
  • Maintaining accurate records and data logs

Collaboration & Reporting :

  • Coordinating with scientists and engineers at SSPL, DRDO
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical reports, scientific manuscripts, and presentations
  • Supporting the PI in project documentation, progress reviews, and scientific planning

Salary & Benefits :

  • Monthly Salary: ₹67,000
  • HRA: 27%
